Miguel Ángel Ávila

CEO AND CO-FOUNDER

Miguel Ángel is a Technical Agricultural Engineer from the University of Salamanca,a master’s degree in R&D management GESTIDI and an MBA, and a degree in Agricultural Engineering and rural development from the University of Ávila, and has developed more than 70 European R&D projects and nationals. He has been director of R+D+i, advisor and manager in organizations such as FEPEX and Oblanca, in addition to working for entities such as Tragsa, ITER and Itacyl. In 2023 he received the “Cum Laude Award in the bio-health-pharmaceutical sector” granted by Alumni-University of Salamanca.

Carmela Gómez

VICE PRESIDENT CLINICAL AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS

Degree in Biology and PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Salamanca. For several years she has combined her teaching work in the area of Cell Biology with her research work. She has worked for more than 20 years in different research laboratories, mainly in Spain, but also in Canada, Australia and the USA. Her scientific work has focused mainly on the search for therapeutic targets for chronic myeloid leukaemia and the analysis of the mechanisms of neuroplasticity and neurorepair of central pathways of the nervous system.

Jascha Blobel

CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER

For more than 10 years, Jascha has been working in director positions for biotechs from Spain and the US. In 2015, he co-founded Molomics where he acted as CEO till achieving its sale to San Francisco based VeriSIM in 2022. He has extensive experience in business development, including investments, licensing and collaborations. Jascha has a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Munich (LMU) and a PhD from the IRB Barcelona (University of Barcelona).

Dr. Antonio Oliviero

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

Dr. Oliviero has a degree in Medicine and Surgery and a specialist in Neurology from the Catholic University of Rome (Italy). In the same academic institution he received the title of doctor in Neurosciences. Since 2003 he has been a clinical neurologist and head of the Research Group (FENNSI Group) at the National Hospital for Paraplegics in Toledo. His main lines of research include neurorehabilitation and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. He is the author of more than 150 articles published in journals that have received more than fourteen thousand citations.

David Jimeno

VICE PRESIDENT R&D

David holds a degree in Biology and a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Salamanca and is an expert in the mechanisms of neurorepair in the central nervous system. He has worked in research centres in Germany, Sweden and, for five years, in the United States at the University of California (San Diego) studying different aspects of retinal physiology. He has experience in the management of scientific infrastructures such as the Microscopy Unit and the Neurological Tissue Bank of the INCYL and the Cancer Research Centre of Salamanca.

José Francisco Sánchez

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Accounting and tax advisor trained at the Centro de Estudios Financieros, he has been financial director of the Fundación Hospital General Santísima Trinidad in Salamanca for eight years.

Alexandra Rondón

PROJECT MANAGER

Alexandra holds a degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Chieti (Italy). She is currently studying a Master in Drug Evaluation and Development at the University of Salamanca, where she carries out projects aimed at the welfare of people and health. She has experience in the pharmaceutical field in different countries, such as Italy, Spain and Portugal, working both in R&D and pharmaceutical technology laboratories and as an assistant pharmacist.

Alejandro Muñoz

DIRECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Alejandro is a final year student of the Biotechnology degree, a degree that he combines with the Expert Diploma in Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics. He has collaborated as an intern with the TRECARD research group and the parasitology department of the University of Salamanca. She has also collaborated in the writing of the e-book and the organisation of the Vacunas2022 event. In addition, she has written articles for Acalanda Magazine.

Alba Vega

REGULATORY AFFAIRS SPECIALIST

Alba graduated in Biology from the University of Salamanca and completed her Master’s degree in Advanced Biotechnology at the University of Malaga. Here, she developed her experimental TFM on the expression of Gal3 in the rat brain after neuroinflammation. After finishing her internship at the company Laboratorios Anayco, she completed the course on sustainable laboratory in the industrial field.

Juan Tostado

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER

Graduated with a Double Degree in Marketing and Communication with Advertising and Public Relations from the Pontifical University of Salamanca, you excelled in your Final Degree Project titled “The relationship between brand values and sponsored influencers. A case study applied to the Kings League.” This project will be published in a marketing journal following a presentation at the University of Bragança (Portugal).
He worked at NTT Data, where she played a key role in both internal and external communication, aiming to enhance the brand’s visibility. This experience allowed her to achieve significant personal and professional growth.

Mª Eugenia de Cabo

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

María Eugenia holds a BA and MA from the University of Salamanca, and a PhD from the University of Santiago de Compostela. She is fluent in English, German, Portuguese and Italian. She has travelled and lived in different countries all over the world. She holds the position of executive assistant in the company, given her organisational, relational and human resources skills.

José Javier Muruzábal

DIRECTOR CMD AND QUALITY CONTROL

José Javier has a degree in Pharmacy in the Industrial specialty from the University of Navarra. Accumulates more than 30 years of experience in galenic jobs in institutions such as the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology of the University of Navarra and in companies such as Idafarma, Chemo, Pharmaceutical Innovation Services and Medalchemy, among others.

Dr. Ángel Gil

PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

Physician and doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid, he has worked in different hospitals in the departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is currently director of the Biomechanics and Technical Aids Unit of the National Hospital for Paraplegics in Toledo. His facet as a researcher focused on the rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injury stands out, which has resulted in the publication of dozens of articles in countless prestigious scientific journals.

Luisa Segura

DIRECTOR FORMULATION

Management and design of the pharmaceutical development of the investigational medicinal drug product. Coordination of the different stages of the scale up, manufacture and quality control of the investigational medicinal drug product. Preparation of the Investigational Medicinal Product Dossier.

Dr. Ignacio Galicia

CLINICAL ADVISOR

Ignácio is an MD and Clinical Pharmacologist, who is currently the Director of Clinical Research at Institute Fundación Teófilo Hernando (Madrid, Spain). Previously, he was the leader of Clinical Research at Hospital La Paz (Madrid, Spain) and the Director of the Clinical Trial Unit at Hospital Gómez Ulla (Madrid, Spain).

Claudio Santos

ADVISOR

Claudio has a degree in Biology from the University of Coimbra and a doctorate in Philosophy and Biological and Clinical Cancer from the University of Salamanca. He has extensive experience leading biotech companies and currently directs the operations, strategy, business development activities and contributes to the scientific development plan of several companies in the sector. He is an expert in biomedical research, the development of new drugs and investment in venture capital.
